Fukumi Ramen - Roseville Reviews
Awesome spot for ramen and Japanese comfort food! We had the tonkotsu miso ramen, the honey garlic chicken rice bowl, and some chicken karaage. All delicious, and the chicken was just how I like it - crispy outside and moist inside. The staff were really friendly, and the place had a great vibe. It was packed on a Friday night, so you know it's popular. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because, while the food was really good, it didn't quite blow me away. That said, it's a solid place, and I'll definitely be back to try more!
It was busy inside but we were sat right away. Spilled out water while talking... I'm still so sorry about that. We were celebrating our engagement and talking with our hands. The food was amazing! We got the gyoza, miso tonkatsu ramen and whatever my bf got.. we love fukumi ramen. Roseville and CH are both fantastic, Its Sushi us next on our list! We will continue to return! :)
Really nice spot for some ramen, delicious only complaint is there is only pork I wish they had different meats like chicken for the ramen. other than that great service and great ambient.
My husband and I stopped here on Tuesday night on our way from Nevada City back to Oakland and a craving for ramen hit! The reviews were great and it was on the way , so why not?! We were definitely surprised that upon entering there was a wait, but it went by super quickly and was a sign that hopefully we hit the motherload. The service here is top notch! We had a hard time deciding what we wanted to order and under 5 minutes were approached by three different servers all checking in on us. We went with a chicken and beef broth ramen and loved that you got free extra noodles with it! Our octopus app was amazing and everything was super delicious. I asked for some spicy paste to add to my ramen which gave it an awesome kick, but wasn't expecting to get charged for it. Oh well--we brought it home to continue cooking with! A delightful and filling spot on our travel night.
As I am writing this review (inside the cozy warm office at my workplace...shhh don't tell anyone lol), the weather is very cold and grey outside. What that translates to is a hot bowl of ramen which is one of my favorite comfort foods during the winter months. This takes me none other to "Fukumi Ramen" as I am specifically reviewing their Roseville location. They also have two other spots in the Sacramento area; Folsom and Citrus Heights. Business hours are 11:00am to 9:00pm seven days a week; convenient for most people looking to get their ramen fix. Located in a strip mall on Fairway Drive and adjacent to Pleasant Grove Blvd. in the heart of Roseville, this place has been in operation dating back to early-2020. I came here for the first time with my lady during the afternoon of Friday 12/13/2024 at around 1:45pm. There wasn't a ton of people but luckily we were seated within a minute upon entering. The interior layout has a sleek modern feel to it and is a bit on the dim side. However, one minor caveat is that this building was quite cold; at least during our visit. Maybe this is done intentionally since most of their dishes are served piping hot to warm you up. As far as the menu, they have a very nice assortment of small appetizer dishes including fried chicken, Okonomi fries, tofu, Kimchi, dumplings, and much more. They even carry around 7 assorted rice bowl dishes including pork, chicken, and curry with various toppings and ingredients. Their main dishes however are their Tonkotsu Ramen (pork broth) which come in 7 unique choices as well as their Tori-Paiten Ramen (chicken broth) which offer 3 different choices. Since I was craving a piping hot bowl of ramen, I settled with their most popular choice, the "Fukumi Ramen". This was flavored with a salt-based sauce and topped with Entra Chashu (which is a braised Japanese pork belly), seasoned medium-boiled egg, green onions, sprouts, seaweed, and garlic oil. I also opted for extra noodles (at no charge) to be added to my ramen bowl. My lady decided on their "Chicken Mayo Bowl" which rice topped with honey garlic chicken, Japanese mayo, green onions, and sesame seeds. Her bowl arrived in about 12 minutes while mine took roughly 18 minutes; a little longer than what I expected since we were hungry but nonetheless. As for the overall flavor of the Fukumi Ramen, it was absolutely perfect and piping hot; just the way I like it. The pork belly was seasoned well while all other fillings made every sip very savory and delicious. I also tried a couple bites of her rice bowl and that too was delicious. The only drawback was the rice to meat ratio was roughly 3:1 which isn't a big deal but there was quite a bit of rice. All in all, "Fukumi Ramen - Roseville" is an above average place with a variety to cater to everyone; and their quality is what you'd expect. My rating, a respectable four stars.
